Tonight’s THE Night
There is tension in the air in New York. It’s electric. The Nuggets are ON coming to town and they are bringing a 3 and OHH! road record, 11 and 5 over-all to the Knick’s playground.
With the Knicks being 6 and 9 the Nuggets are counting on putting themselves at 12 and 5. The Nugs have won 5 of the last 7 games with the Knicks, but frankly, it could be anybody’s game. Since 1996/1997 the two teams are dead even at 14 each.
A few interesting points. “Big Al” who’s been, well big for the Nuggets this year was a Knick back in 08 to 10. Nene, as some may recall was drafted by the Knicks back in 2002 (seventh) and promptly traded to the Nuggets.
So what to expect tonight? Well Denver is bringing their 104+ ppg average along with their 24+ assists and 4.8 blocks to the Knicks party. The Knicks? Well their numbers on paper are lower. But Melo is bringing a strong desire to NOT let Denver notch a W. Having watched Melo close-up for many years, that’s a “stat” not to be over-looked.
Denver is 6 and 0 versus Eastern Conference teams, 3 and 0 at home. The odds as they say are with the Nuggets on this one.
For tonight’s game, Vicki and I will be attending the “Denver Stiff’s” watch party at Jake’s Food & Spirits. Check out their post for directions. Latest Facebook numbers show about half a hundred with many “+1 or more” will be attending. I’m not expecting to see many Knicks fans. By the way, Jake’s has some BIG Tv’s to catch the action.
Note: Vicki and I are bringing a little (actually it’s about 4 feet by 4 feet) surprise give-away for tonight. Let’s just say, it’s “game worn”, game used, NBA/Nuggets/Pepsi Center related. We’re pretty sure that if Andy doesn’t keep it for himself, some lucky Fan will go home with a smile.
